The northmost section of this stretch goes through the Näsby Fält nature reserve. This stretch goes through a very varied landscape with open meadows, shrubbery and reeds, wetland forests, beach meadows and rich broadleaved woods. At the rest stop by Norra Lingenäset (56.07226, 14.13581) you will find dry toilets, bench/table, a grill area, a charcoal vending machine and parking.

Inside the nature reserve, you are not allowed to pick any plants, but in the spring you can still enjoy the lovely scent of the wild garlic blooming underneath the trees. Once you exit the forest, the terrain opens up and you come out on the beach meadows along Helgeå.

You continue across the wide-open Näsby Field towards Isternäset. The trail continues through the beach meadows that will be flooded by Helge River in winter. The beach meadows display a rich bird life, and you have a chance to see Eurasian curlew, northern lapwing and white-tailed eagle. Once you reach Lillö, there is a possibility to take a break in the courtyard of the medieval castle ruins.

The trail then crosses Helge River and continues through a wetland forest and Årummet nature reserve to emerge at Naturum Vattenriket and Kristianstad city centre. Naturum has an exhibition on the Water Kingdom, nature guides and you can have a meal or snack at Café Årum. Kristianstad has a large selection of restaurants and accommodation, and you can find shops and interesting museums in the lovely city centre.

Näsby Field is an old military exercise area that was turned into a nature reserve in 2002. There are still remains in the field from its military past in the form of a shooting range, ammunition stores and pits used to conceal tanks.

Out in the beach meadows outside of Kristianstad, you find the Lillö castle ruins dating back to the 13th century. The castle once stood five storeys tall and had lime-washed walls. It was torn down between 1658–1659 and lay dormant until the 1940s, when archaeologists started to excavate the ruins. Today, there is an exhibition inside the castle remains and you can borrow the key at Naturum.

Further south, the trail takes you past a hill. These are the remains of the 14th-century Härlöv Castle, which was made entirely of wood. Archaeological findings indicate that the castle saw a violent end, as scorched crossbow arrows have been found at the site.
