The hike will take you through rolling pastures, beautiful beech forests and further on to one of Skåne's longest waterfalls, Forsakar.
Old pastures and grazing animals meet you in the gently undulating nature reserve Maglehem. During the spring, wood anemone grows in abundance in the nature reserve and late summer the heather will bloom.
Flowing water contributes to the area's great diversity of both birds and plants. In the area, you can birdwatch for grey wagtail and kingfishers, among other things.
The trail continues on under the protective crowns of the beech forest to later pass Forsakar with its waterfalls and species-rich pastures. Forsakar's waterfall has a total drop height of 10.6 meters and is said to be the work of giants. The ledge, "karet" has given the waterfall its name Forsakar.
On the north-eastern slope of Linderödsåsen, Dunderbäcken flows forward into branching brooks, surrounded by lush deciduous forest. In the spring, the ground in the reserve is populated with white and yellow anemones och blue bells.
Through the reserve runs the old railway embankment, which today has been converted into a cycle path between Kristianstad/Degeberga and Maglehem. There is also a local hiking trail of 2 km in the nature reserve if you want to explore the area further.
Behind the villas in Degeberga awaits a magical landscape, so magical that parts of the Brothers Lionheart were filmed here. The gentle slopes were formed when the inland ice melted thousands of years ago, with huge blocks of ice calving and leaving large rocks in the depressions. With the soil being rich in limestone, a number of special plants and animals live here. On the sandy steppes, koeleria glauca, small St Bernad’s lily and sand pink thrive, and in the reserve, pasqueflower is also flaunting. During the summer evenings, the Breckland thyme spreads its spicy scent.
In Degeberga there is a grocery store and a bus stop.
