On trails and small roads, you hike near settlements, past planted forests and beautiful pastures. Ruins and memorial stones are hidden in the vegetation, and water springs refresh you during the hike.
Here, the settlement is close but barely noticeable. The forest is dense except for clear-cuts and young forest plantations. At Sjunnerup, you pass through a few rocky pastures. Here, the trees have been allowed to spread out and create wide crowns.
At Sjunnerup, you pass the old railway station. This is where large crowds of Malmö residents came to visit Frostavallen's ski trails and hiking trails.
The journey continues over logs and, above all, stones. You can find cultivation mounds everywhere, and terraces from previous cultivations are hidden in the slope. Discreet stone settings and burial mounds tell us that the area was used during the Iron Age.
Southwest of Vaxsjön, there is a bird park with many exotic species.
At the southern tip of Vaxsjön, you hike on wide trails along Skånes Djurpark's enclosures. The area around Vaxsjön is rich in archaeological remains, and southwest of the lake's tip, you pass two mounds. The western one is a burial mound from the Bronze Age, and the other is a stone heap with burnt stones, probably from hearths. Several hundred years ago, the area was more built up and significantly more open. If you stood on the hills by the lake, you had a view of Ringsjön and all the way to Lyby Church, 15 km to the south.
In several places, the trail goes straight through ruins of farms and cottages. Onsvalakällan is the stage's pearl. It is said to have magical water and once was the gathering place of the "heathen people" after battle.
In general, spruce forest dominates, but small-growing deciduous trees line the trail in the west and tall, slender beech trunks in the east. In a few places, you pass really old and crooked trees, such as the rotten beech at Bökestorp. It is a biotope in itself, and below you can find the farm's old water spring

About Difficulty Grading
The grading of the trails is based on a common national standard. If you want to read more about this, visit the National Framework for Hiking Trails.
Even and firm ground: The terrain is generally flat. The hike requires no need to use your hands for support. No obstacles. Bridges are always present when crossing waterways.
Uneven and/or soft ground: Some changes in elevation. Certain sections may require hand support to maintain balance. There may be obstacles such as low stiles and short stairs. Minor obstacles like stones and roots. Boardwalks are present.
Loose or slippery ground combined with steep sections: Technical parts require hand support. There may be obstacles such as high stiles and longer stairs. Frequent sections with stones and/or roots. Boardwalks with deeper surrounding water.
Note: One or more of these features may be present along the trail section.
